Vibe Hacking Weekend S25
We just wrapped our first Vibe Hacking Weekend S25 in Vilnius, Lithuania this May 16-18. Over 30 builders came together with one goal: ship something real in a weekend.
Eighteen teams took over a converted warehouse in the hottest Vilnius's founders' spot - basedspace_. From the minute everyone arrived, you could feel it – this wasn't going to be your typical hackathon. Indeed, we didn't even call it a hackathon.
Our industry has too many events focused on the wrong things – endless talks, theoretical networking, flexing the "we made it" attitude. Vibe hacking is about one thing: building and shipping, no matter your experience.
All-Night Building
What made this different was how genuine it felt. Teams cranked through the night, fueled by coffee, energy drinks, pizza orders and the buzz of being surrounded by people who get it.
As night fell, the space transformed into loud music – ambient lighting, curated playlists keeping the energy just right.
"The music made it possible" one builder told me. "There's something about coding with the perfect soundtrack that hits different. It wasn't background noise – it was part of the process."
By morning, tired but locked in, most teams had working prototypes. Everyone just blown up by the prompt magic.
The Winners
Sunday afternoon, the judges faced a tough call.
The €2,500 top prize (thanks, FIRSTPICK) went to Dito – they built an AI-powered dark ships tracker that spots vessels potentially up to no good.
"What got us about Dito wasn't just the tech, but more so it was creativity," one judge said. "They found a real problem, built a working solution in 48 hours, and showed how modern AI can tackle serious global issues."
Community Impact
The whole thing was put together by basedspace_, a builders' community focused on creating unique technical experiences. They made sure the weekend wasn't just about competing, but about supporting each other.
"We believe in bringing the right people together in the right space - vibe coding is something that should give everyone confidence to build" said the Ignas Gecevicius, the co-founder of basedspace_
Looking Forward
It is pretty clear, that these events will happen more. More people will see how actually easy it is to start, and make the future more bright.
We're building a movement of people who value action over talk, who know the best way to predict the future is to build it yourself. Step by step.
